Boston Harbor Hotel Presents: Boston Wine Festival

The Boston Wine Festival is surely one of Boston’s finest winter traditions. The festival is led by founder and master chef Daniel Bruce of the hotel’s Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar, known for its excellence in wine and food pairings. The festival features an all-star line up of wine makers from some of the world’s best wineries, plus top chefs and sommeliers. Activities range from walk-around receptions, featuring over 40 wines of a particular theme along with food buffets and dishes created by Chef Bruce; to intimate, four-course dinners hosted by winemakers or winery owners. The Boston Harbor Hotel offers special overnight stay packages for festival guests. Check back in mid October for confirmed dates.

Every Monday throughout the year (except Holidays), the ICC presents set dancing with Cait Bracken from 7:30-9:30pm. Set dancing is a form of social dancing which has been popular in Ireland for over 150 years. Sets are danced by four couples in a square.  No previous dancing experience or partner required! No registration required for this class.

Join the ICC for a very special Valentine's evening as they welcome Baile and Salsa for what's sure to be a fun-filled night of Irish traditional music AND Salsa! Formed in 2012 in Galway City, Baile an Salsa are an international band comprised of nine world-class musicians. The band seamlessly  blends their passion for traditional Irish music with Latin Rhythms creating a fusion which they call "Salsa-Trad", and its appeal is apparent in the band's growing Irish and international fan base. Robbie O'Connell made his Burren Series debut four years ago and since then, his yearly appearances have been amongst the crowd favorites. His story telling, wit, song-writing ability, and a personality that exudes warmth will make this February evening in his company something to drive the winter chill away. The Burren Backroom Series was founded by musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello and is hosted by Brian O' Donovan of WGBH A Celtic Sojourn.

For the past 21 years, Solas has held the torch of Irish-American roots music high, traveling the world as the premiere band of its generation. In a way, Solas can be seen as the Los Lobos of Irish-American music. Mist Covered Mountains makes its Blackstone River Theatre debut with a concert of Celtic music with a French accent. Molly Hebert-Wilson (pictured) sings in Irish and English. Guitarist Max Cohen and fiddler Donna Hébert harmonize, with Alex Bell on drums and bodhran, and Molly on upright bass. Blurring lines between past and present, Mist Covered Mountains delivers ballads in English, Irish and French supported with dynamic instrumentals from traditional and original sources.
