Managed by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, boxer Danny O’Connor is bringing the classic Boston Vs. New York rivalry to the sport of boxing.  The boxing event of the year will benefit the Claddagh Fund and will be held at the House of Blues Boston on May 24.

Hailng from Framingham, MA, Danny O’Connor is a flashy junior welterweight with an elusive southpaw stance best known for his decorated amateur pedigree. His boxing accolades include the 2008 United States future stars national championship where he was presented the “outstanding boxer award” as well as the 2008 national golden gloves championship. This rare accomplishment puts O’Connor in the same esteemed category as such boxing legends as “Sugar” Ray Leonard, “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler, and Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns. In addition, his most distinguished and personal accomplishment in boxing was his opportunity to represent his country in the 2008 Olympics as an alternate on the United States boxing team. His rigorous preparation for the Olympics required spending an entire year honing his craft at the Olympic training center in Colorado.
