CELTIC THUNDER: TOUR AND CRUISE
Celtic Thunder has found a home in the hearts of New Englanders. The renowned Irish group has a worldwide following for sure, but has carved out a special place in this region, performing at sold out concert halls, singing the national anthem at the Boston Celtics games, and emerging as one of the most popular bands on PBS station WGBH.
The six vocalists of Celtic Thunder - Emmet Cahill, Ryan Kelly, Colm Keegan, George Donaldson, Keith Harkin, and Neil Byrne - are outstanding in their own right, but taken together, these six voices become a tour de force ensemble that entertains and inspires while capturing the essence of musical expression.
This fall the talented sextet returns to New England – backed by an incredible band – for four shows to promote the band’s latest album, Mythology. The band’s tenth album, Mythology, offers an extraordinary blend of folk, traditional Irish, contemporary rock and classical crossover that is sure to please every music lover.
Among the songs on the album, and the tour, are Isle of Innisfree, Rocky Road to Dublin, Danny Boy, and the Sounds of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel.
On June 17 the band’s new single, My Land, a patriotic anthem, is being released in time for Fourth of July festivities around the country. Proceeds from the song support past and present servicemen and women.
After the New England tour this fall, Celtic Thunder is embarking on the inaugural “Celtic Thunder Cruise” from November 2-7, 2013, sailing roundtrip from Miami, FL to Jamaica and the Grand Cayman islands. They’re joined on the cruise by a number of other top Irish performers, such as soprano Deirdre Shannon, formerly of Celtic Woman and others.
