CULTURE GUIDE ON CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN
MASSACHUSETTS AND IRELAND

(BOSTON) -- The Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA) has issued its 2016 annual St. Patrick’s Day issue of Travel & Culture Guide, a compendium of parades and festivals, concerts and dances, literary and film events and other cultural activities taking place in Massachusetts and throughout New England.

The 32-page color magazine is distributed free at visitor kiosks and cultural venues throughout Massachusetts and is available in digital format online. Pick up a free copy here.

This issue features profiles of Ray Flynn, former US Ambassador and Mayor of Boston; Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra; Seamus Connolly, All-Ireland fiddle champion and creator of Boston College's Gaelic Roots program; and Sara Stanton, Managing Director of Cara Group Tour, who is organizing a Pilgrimage from Boston to the Shrine of Knock in Ireland this summer.

Also in the Guide: a round up of cultural activities in New England through June; schedule of St. Patrick's Day parades; details on blockbuster shows like Riverdance, Cirque Du Soleil and Celtic Woman, details on events commemorating the 1916 Easter Rising, culinary activities from Boston to Newport, and details on Boston's Irish Heritage Trail.

The spring issue of the Guide offers ideas for traveling to Ireland in 2016, with stories on Ancient Ireland East; Northern Ireland Food Celebrations, and the new Aer Lingus direct route service between Hartford, CT and Dublin, Ireland.

BITA was formed in 2000 to promote cultural tourism year round.  It publishes three issues of Travel & Culture Guide in March, June and October.

BITA has developed the Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail, which highlights Irish landmarks throughout Boston and around the state.
