Boston Irish Heritage Trail
Guided Walking Tours From March 17-18, 2018


(BOSTON) -- This St. Patrick’s Day weekend, learn the true history of Boston’s Irish community dating from the 17th century by taking a guided tour of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail.

Organized by the Boston Irish Tourism Association, the 75 minute tours are led by seasoned guide and local historian Ted Kulik, covering 10 sites in downtown Boston that mark the Irish odyssey from the Revolutionary War through the present.

The tours begin at the Visitors Information Center on Boston Common, located at 147 Tremont Street, starting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18, 2018. Cost of the tour is $15 per person; $12 for students/seniors/military and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Among the topics covered: the Irish role in the Revolutionary War, the Famine Irish era of the 19th century, Irish valor in the Civil War, and the Boston Irish century, when Irish-Americans held the mayor’s office continuously between 1929 and 1994.

Reserve your spot on the tour by filling out th online reservation form at IrishBoston.org. Participants can also purchase tickets the day of the tour at the front desk of the Boston Common Visitor Information Center.
