Now in its 11th year, A St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn presents an exquisite blending of traditional music, song and dance representing the Gaelic traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Appalachia and the Canadian Maritimes.
Presented by Brian O’Donovan, weekly host of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, and Music director Keith Murphy, this year’s show offers a wide range of contemporary and traditional music to suit every taste.
Among the performers: Open the Door for Three, comprised of fiddle master and Kentucky native Liz Knowles, American-born uilleann piper, flutist and tin whistle player Kieran O’Hare and Dublin-born singer and bouzouki player Pat Broaders. They are joined by Scottish harpist and vocalist Maeve Gilchrist, concertina maestro Brenda Castles from County Meath, and guitarist Keith Murphy from the band Childsplay.
Rounding out the cast is a host of excellent Irish dancers.
